Bombay Adventure

The Gate of India

I’ve been in Bombay (now Mumbai) with my niece, Viola Parrocchetti, for the past three weeks. Working with local artisans, we’re collaborating on a new resort collection including some wonderfully light silk/cotton summer dresses. We’re also producing some beautifully printed tablecloths and dreamy hand-embroidered cushions! I’m eagerly looking forward to presenting the Le Sirenuse Home and Kaftan Collection at our very own Emporio Le Sirenuse this coming summer, 2013!

Parrocchetti herself has been living in Mumbai for several years, and produces her own successful line. From a Dharawi workshop she creates smart, innovative designs that combine traditional hand-craftsmanship with a modern sensibility—her clothing and fabrics can be found in fine boutiques throughout the world: from Paris, to Milan, to Tokyo. Visit her site here.

I’ll keep you posted with more news as things progress. For now, I’ve included a few images (below) from this unbelievably vibrant, multi-cultural city.
